Essie was actually trying to be a smart alec here, but it actually turned out okay:

Essie ended up having a great day. She loves her teacher and sits next to a very nice young man named Cody. I think she's actually excited to go to school tomorrow. For the record - she has chosen peanut butter toast for the morning.
Gert LOVED school. The best part was apparently lining up for the bathroom. She said there were lots of nice kids in her class, and she told her Daddy that this was the best day of her life!
So it was good - we'll see what transpires from here!

So glad Essies day turned out to be a great one. And sweet little Gert I'm just glad she liked it. Please let us know how the PB toast turns out tomorrow. Just remind her she picked it out and there is absolutely no changing the morning of.

my kids the middle schooler goes back September 3rd the kindergarten er goes back on September 10th the two year old can't go until she is three so we don't have to worry for awhile (January) LOL

P.S. I read my comment after I wrote it and I felt okay about what I said. I'm always worried I will offend someone on here and they won't like me anymore....:) I need to go back to grade school and resolve some old issues apparently.....

Ahhh...the first day of school. Scary, exciting, heart breaking etc. Glad she had a good day! And about the previous pb toast incident, my advice would be to stand by your guns! If she said she wanted it, she eats it or nothing. At least that is what I do. The drama queen in them always attempts to make mountains out of molehills, show no weakness in order to win.
Glad to hear they both had good days! It can only continue, right?

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that! I love the sweet tilt of Gert's head; she is so stinkin' cute. And Essie doesn't look so mad anymore by the time ya'll were at school. Hang in there, momma!
