Essie dropped a chair on her foot. The nailbed has all turned colors. Yesterday she asked me what was going to happen. I casually said "Well... it might fall off - but don't worry, it will grow back." Essie proceeded to go into hysterics boarding on panic attack... repeatedly asking me "Really? Fall off???" and I would answer "Yes, but really, nothing to worry about, it'll grow back." And then finally she wailed "BUT I'M NOT A LIZARD." She started to calm down after about 20 minutes when she look at me and said "Mommy... my toe is really going to fall off??" ACK!!! NO!!! Not your toe - your toe nail!!!!!! You have NEVER heard an 11-year-old give such a sigh of relief. I still kinda chuckle about what must have been going through her mind as I was so casually indicating that her toe would fall off but that it "would not be a big deal."
Guinea pigs are not NEARLY as predictable as you would think they are.
We FINALLY have the go ahead from the bank to put in for our first draw and get some action started on the house. WOO. HOO.

Pink's song "Glitter in the Air" is getting heavy rotation on every music playing device I have. Mostly it makes me miss being able to play piano.
