Second things second. Yes, my maiden name was Beaver. It was quite a name to grow up with. I attribute 95% of my personality today to dealing with it as a child. The "Bucky Beaver" in elementary school, the "Hey Beaver, where's Wally" calls in junior high, and then the lovely day that Naked Gun made the slang meaning for Beaver a household word in high school, learning to make the joke first developed what you now see as biting wit. Get it... biting.. beaver... HA HA. My all time FAVORITE Beaver story came in college from a sweet, innocent young man who did NOT know the slang meaning for Beaver. He was trying to come up with something using "Beaver" I had never heard before. One afternoon I was walking up to my dorm and he came running out "I'VE GOT IT!!!! Try this - I've got the fever for the flavor of a Beaver." Um... that's all I have to say about that. (Actually it's not - I do still have a Beaver collection, specifically Beaver Christmas Ornaments... so if you ever see one, please let me know!!)

Okay... finally... I promised to get to acknowledging and passing out some awards!! Ooo I love this part!!!

1. Melissa at Reinventing the Wheel and Saving the Day. I think she changes the design of her blog daily, which makes it pretty fun :) Never know what you're going to get. I'm still waiting for her to get her blog mixed up with her customers stuff and see some.. um.. adult... material on her blog! I'm pretty much tickled that she's hanging out over here in Bloggerland.
2. MB at Life Is An Oxymoron. First of all cause of the heart on her header... it moves... that's cool. Second, she's a great writer and I love her outlook on life. And third, because I'm SO dang proud of her and her accomplishments!!
3. K at Farming, Living and Loving in the Heartland. I love that the background of her blog is Green.. I kind feel like I'm hanging out at her place when I read it. Not that I ever HAVE hung out there.. but I'd like to. She's got such a wonderful outlook on life, and cares about people so deeply. Go read her stuff, she's real!
4. Caro (see how cool I am there - usin' the nickname... HA) at Pocket Change. A little of this, a little of that, and one dang cute redhead! I love her pictures and her attitude, and the variety - hey - it's kinda like pocket change... HEY - I get it!!!!
5. Angie at Angie's Spot. Just the Monday Eye Candy ALONE is worth an award. And the rest of the week she's funny and charming and one of my favorite reads!!!

OH - And it IS Wednesday and I DO need to rag. I REALLY REALLY WISH that the package delivery services of the world (UPS, FedEx, DHL) would BAN smoking in their trucks. I'm so tired have having packages that I have to FUMIGATE before I open. I mean really. Ick. I know I'm supposed to forgive, and I will, right after I send some e-mails to some customer service departments.
I do believe that is all for now. I might be back later. Or I might be buried under of pile of stuff I have no idea what to do with because my boss is gone and I'm doing her stuff and am LOST!!!!!!!

I feel so honored! Thank you for my blog award! I'm glad Mr. B is ok. And as for the Beaver jokes, I can relate some with the name Dawn. People still try to come up with something funny and really, I've heard them all - yeah, you woke up at the CRACK of Dawn, bust out singing DELTA DAWNNNNNNNN for me, it just DAWNED on me, etc.

Wow.....I don't know what to say....an award for little ole me, whoda thunk it? *smooches* So glad everything is alright with Mr. B and hope things can work out as easily and quickly as possible for him.
Do you remember at all that my oldest carried around a beaver with him for years that he carved himself? He named it Bucky Beaver, and honestly that thing was in his jeans pocket every single day for at least 3 years. He thought he lost it once and that was one of the most drama filled days I've experienced with him LOL I've always kind of dreaded the day when he really gets the other meanings for Beaver because he has so many of them in his room that we and other people have given him over the years. It's his fav animal. So I doubt I'll ever forget your maiden name thanks to him! LOL
