Although this is my first marriage (of nearly 29 years), I wear a very pretty anniversary ring that I got about 10 years ago more than anything so I vote stones in a band.
One other thing...I Shouted You Out in today's post. We're Rockin' the Vote today, and need your help! I figured that, as a seasoned candidate and everything, you'd have some useful pointers to give, right?

As far as second marriages go ... we did both. I wanted a plain band but he wanted me to have diamonds, so he got me an anniversary band of white gold filled with 1 carat worth of princess cut diamonds. I got him a tungsteen band, which is nearly indestructible. That ring shines like the top of the Chrysler building ... it was a good choice!
This marriage will be so much more special than the last. I think you should have whatever you want.

It is almost noon and I am in my rubber ducky pj bottoms. And I will be wearing them when the kids get off the bus. I'll get dressed tonight when I have stuff to do.
I miss Barbie and I am disappointed in myself too. Is it a late thirty somthing thing? I sure would like to know.

Okay, I could leave a comment on EVERY SINGLE thought you put down, but I will spare you. So I'll just comment on the 4 that really stuck out at me:
1) I am a firm believer that PJs should be worn as much as humanly possible.
2) I love diamonds, but I work with my hands, so I vote diamonds in a band... that way nothing sticks out and gets in your way.
3) Why on earth are you disappointed in yourself?!

I "insisted" on just a band when Bruce and I were getting married. However, when we went to look, a platinum band with 4 diamonds caught our eye. Then, the jeweler showed how great it would look with a small gold "twisted" band on top and bottom. So, I ended up with 3 rings. Still simple, but gorgeous!!
Ella and I have been playing Barbies for the last 3 sundays. I still have my Barbie from the early 60's. Now I have been buying Barbie clothes on ebay like a maniac. I think I need an intervention...I keep saying they are for Ella, but they are just as much for me.

I do the same thing, I even carry around a little notebook that I jot down 'blog thoughts' in, but I forget to write them down half the time! DUH!

I'm glad the weekend went well and that the A/C is fixed. We need to get ours serviced because we just can't stand the heat when it stops working (90 degrees today, yuck).
I think if you want a diamond, you should get it. The band with diamonds sounds lovely.
