Something fun... Name that Tune

You may not realize this, but I'm an OLD blogger. I've been blogging since February 25th, 2004. I've been at Xanga that whole time, but have recently moved over here (I like it better and I'm getting to "meet" new people, so I LOVE that) But I figured every once-in-a-while I'd grab an old blog or idea from back in the day and bring it new life over here. So I was looking through the archives over there, and found this fun little game - Name that Tune... here's the rules:

Put your iTunes on shuffle and type out the first line(s) of the first twenty songs that come up. Skip instrumentals or foreign language tracks. Post 'em and see who can name the most - name that tune and the artist who performed it. Obviously, whoever goes later will have an advantage from seeing what others post, so if you are going to play type out your answers BEFORE you hit the "comment" link and post them so you don't see what others have already posted. We'll see who can answer the most correctly. If you cheat and use a websearch you miss the point of the game.

Here we go:

1. Emmanuel (HA HA - how funny is THAT... narrow THAT one down kiddos!!!)
2. Everybody's doing it
3. I feel no shame, I'm proud of where I came from, I was born and raised....
4. I am a lighthouse, worn by the weather and the waves
5. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
6. Ten pounds too much to the naked eye
7. Like the sky before the dawn, while the night is holding on
8. Suns up, it's a little after twelve, make breakfast for myself
9. Tommy used to work on the docks, union men on strike...
10. I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
11. Rubber ducky you're the one... (oh PLEASE.... LOL)
12. I'm tired of the pressure, so tired of the pace
13. Take time to realize that your warmth is crashing down on in
14. She's got a way about her, I don't know what it is
15. Do you remember back in old LA, when everybody drove a Chevrolet... (bonus points if you get that one)
16. Oh my life, is changing every day, every possible way
17. (lol - I can't believe this one really came up) Beth, I hear you callin', but I can't come home right now.
18. You'll say we've got nothing in common, no common ground to start from
19. Love me or leave me, make your choice but believe me
20. Say goodbye to not knowing when the truth in my whole life began

OK-Maybe I am too young-but I only knew one-
3-Little Big Town:Boondocks
I found your blog and I love it! You crack me up! I was laughing out loud at your stories!
I just wanted to say one thing about the food stamps. People make comments when they don't understand. That lady didn't understand.
I am proud of you for taking the step to do that. I think that must be hard to take the help. Us women are proud, espescially when it comes to our children.
I know that these words come from a stranger-but I say hold your head high and you go girl. It takes a strong woman to accept the help and wear a thong! :) Come by anytime and say hi! I love new friends!!

Bethie dear - I've been humming Boondocks all day long!!

And I danced with my Mom to #14 at my wedding, since my Dad died when I was 2½. That's "our" song. Awwwwww
