A Glimpse Inside

*warning... this post sort of gives away plot lines from "How to Train Your Dragon"... now... these are plot lines you can see coming from the previews, but I'm just warning you now.

I took the ladies to "How To Train Your Dragon"... if you don't know what the premise is, this young Viking, Hiccup, is the son of a Chief of a Viking village. This village is constantly raided by dragons, so the Vikings are trying to do away with the dragons. Hiccup, as his name might imply, pretty much can't do anything right, and when everyone goes off to fight the dragon, he's left at home because his dad doesn't really think he can do anything right.

Now, as any good movie goer/story reader knows, at the end, Hiccup saves the day. And of course his dad comes to him and says "Oh son, I am so proud of you!" And of course, the whole movie theater went "Awwwwww"

Except for the person sitting next to me. My 11-year-old daughter. My daughter who constantly butts heads with her own father.

You know what she said under her breath?

"Sure you are NOW...... you should have been all along."

Out of the mouth of my babe.

If you go to the Regal 24 on 85 in Atlanta, in theater 13, somewhere there on the floor is a piece of my heart... it broke at that moment.

Color my World

So Mr. B and I are going out to look for paint tomorrow, and I've scoured the internet for color ideas for the kitchen/eat in kitchen/family room for the new house. Well... all the rooms for that matter.

So... what colors do you love? What colors are you tired of? Do you have different colors in each room or one color throughout? If you could do rooms in your house differently, what would you do?

Just in case you REALLy want to be inspired, here's the pictures of the house....

2010-1972=..........

38! That's right kids. I'm 38 today. That doesn't seem that old, right?

I'm big on birthdays, mine and any one else's. I like having people recognize my birthday. I like hearing people sing happy birthday to me. And I like doing it for others.

The first birthday I have a clear memory of was my 3rd or 4th birthday. We went to Farrell's ice cream parlor. It was all good and fun until they brought out the birthday cake and were honking an old car horn. That scared the beejezus out of me and I cried.

I remember my 16th birthday. My parents (who were divorced) both got me 16 presents. For a total of 32. Not a bad haul.

I remember my 14th birthday. My mom had to be gone and I was staying with friends. Before she left, she gave each of my teachers a piece of a puzzle in an envelope. At the end of each class, that teacher gave me the envelope, and by the end of the day there was just one piece missing. What I did have I put together and it said to go to the school office to get my last piece. I got to the office and there were flowers and balloon waiting for me!!!!!

My mom is good with birthdays.

Today I got a card from her that says... she's definitely moving to Atlanta!!!! WOO HOO!!! Now, she drives me crazy, but I KNOW that will be better if she's close by. The reason she drives me nuts is because we have to shove a years worth of visits into 9 days and a 1 bedroom (and more importantly one BATHROOM) apartment... and that just doesn't cut it!! So I'm pretty excited. She's looking at sometime around August 1.

What's your best birthday memory????
