Why do they put actual pockets on the butt of women's dress pants? No one uses them as pockets and you just end up with that goofy square pocket line on your tooshie.
I don't get that.

What is the point of pants without front pockets???? Where can you put your hands whilst standing?
I think it's to draw attention to your butt, especially on those jeans with cute pockets and beads etc.
What's worse it that when you wash the pants, the pockets get all wrinkly and never lay flat - so you end up with wrinkly lines and bumps on your butt.
note to self - avoid tush pockets

Or, like me, you slide into the seat of your car and rip the right butt cheek button off. Every time. So, now it makes lines on my butt, is wrinkly, and won't stay down.
I must be uber uncool. I USE my back pockets. I use them to hold gum and my driver license. I have to wear dress pants at work and I can not be without gum while working with the public. Also since over half my pants do not have a front pocket and they all have back pockets, that is the pocket I use.
Oh and with Jeans I carry my wallet in my back pocket instead of carrying a bulky purse.
Or the TINY TINY TINY TINY pocket on the front of dress pants. One can't even fit a quarter in it. What's the point?

yes i myself have wondered that very same thing.
I stick stuff in my back pockets all the time, if they're big enough. Like receipts, gum wrappers, grocery list when I'm done with it. And I have never once examined my butt to see if there are lines or not. Maybe I'm the weird one.
What about the little pocket on the front with a flap that never stays down? Watch pocket? It's worthless.

I use the stitchless glue you get to hem pants and glue the pocket shot all the way so that they don't "curl".
Otherwise, I think they just make your butt look like a target.
I think the pockets are for skinny women who need to simulate a butt:-)
