I'm starting to think I should change the name of my blog to The Journey to Target... :)
Really, I can talk about other things.
Here's the question for the day - what do your kids call their grandparents?? We have 3 grandmas and one grandpa, so my ex's mom is Grannie, my step-mom is Grandma, and my mom is Mimi. Essie named my mom Mimi at about 5 months. My mom had come to visit, and Essie was in her crib, and had just woken up. I said "Essie, look who's here! Who is that?" And plain as day she said "mi mi"... so, it stuck!!! The problem is that while my mom loves being Mimi (Or Meem's as Gert calls her) she doesn't like that it's so hard to find those cute shirts and plaques and stuff that says Mimi. Yesterday, I was walking through a local mall, and here's this cute little shop, and hanging in the door are signs that say "Nana's Kitchen" and "Granna's Kitchen" and then I see it!!! "Mimi's Kitchen"!!!!!!!! ACK!!!! And I go in the store and they have TONS of Mimi stuff!!! Apparently the ladies husband makes all the stuff and they listen to people over the years and Mimi has become quite popular!!!! So, in the end I found this ceramic mug (my mom collects mugs) that I MUST buy for her. I didn't yesterday cause you know... money ain't flowin' much, but I absolutely know where I am going to go to get her presents for Christmas this year!!!!!
In other news, I get to see Mr. B this week. I'm going down late Wednesday and coming home Friday morning. He has something planned for us to do on Thursday but he's keeping it a secret. I can't WAIT to see him. ACK!!! I haven't seen him since Father's Day weekend so I'm MORE than ready!
Miss Gert comes home tomorrow, to STAY!!!!! I get one of my babies back!!! I'm quite excited and ready to have some company in the house.
Wanna see something I think is neat??

um yup she is yours!
you can create your own design for shirts on the computer and print it out on "iron on" paper
my kids have no grandparents :(
but before they passed it was "grandma, and grandpa" for the in laws
and "Nana" for my mom, which really got confusing with the "auntie nan" LOL My dad died before my kids were born but my nephews and nieces either called him "grandpa" or "pops" when we were kids all the neighborhood kids and our friend's always called him "pops"
now I have shared way too much with you LOL off to go buy back to school supplies sheesh how much should she need she has been out of school for all of two weeks LOL
I can't stop typing! Man, I really should get me one of these blogs ;) LOL
My kids call my inlaws, grandma and papa and my folks MawMaw and PawPaw. I can't stand the MawMaw but my mom picked it. My grandmother was Nanny to me and I loved her so much I want to be Nanny too, I think.
I hope you have a great time with Mr. B -details, baby, I want the details.
So glad babycakes is coming home for good, I know that makes your heart happy.
Wow! Gert looks JUST like you as a baby! I am glad that she is coming home to stay! We have to do what is best at the time, but how nice to have her back! My kids call their grandparents "Granny & Grandpa," "Nannie & John" (he's a step-grandpa & never got a name!), and Maw Maw & Paw Paw.
My girls call them Grandma and then put a last name or a first name after it to tell you which one.
Holy schnikes! I've never seen such resemblance in baby pics!
My dtr's nickname is Pooh, so my parents are her Poohma & Poohpa. I originally thought she'd be a Granny, but can you see a "Granny" scuba diving, really?
The in-laws are Grandmama & Bop. Bop is b/c another grandchild was trying to tell him to STOP teasing her, but she could only say "bop" for stop. So it stuck w/ subsequent grands.
Cool idea for a question!
Wow....Wow amazing that you all look so much alike as BABIES.
MY Mom is Nannie and that is all we got really. My kids have never met their DAD'S mother....so i have not idea what they would call her. I guess the Korean name for Grandmother I am not sure how to spell it... And as far as my dad they say GRAN...that is it for a little family. NOT many grandparents around and no living great grandparents at all.
Have fun with MR B!
WOW!!! That's an amazing resemblance!!!
Oh wow, how cute is that?? You bet she's yours!!
My parents are Nana and Papa. My husbands parents are Grandma and Grandpa although they have no interest in seeing their grandkids so basically my kids don't call them anything. Kind of sad isn't it?
Yep, she sure is yours!
We have "Grandma" and "Juju" and if we can't find Juju stuff we can only purchase GrandMOTHER stuff.
Fun post!
My parents are Mamaw Pinky and Papaw Sonny. My in-laws are Nanna and Poppy. Their great grandmothers are GeGe and Mamaw Pene...don't ask, it'd take too long to explain!
Beautiful babies...truly...
