And tonight, for the Main Event - Targ*t v. Wal-M*rt

So Heather has expressed her distaste for the Beast from Bentonville (Wal-M*rt) and many of her commenters have agreed with her. My own blog last week expounded on my hatred of all things Wal-M*rt. So I wanna know - who loves them some Target (and who REALLY wants to win that $100 GC from Target on SITS this week?)? Who loves them some Wal-M*rt? (That sentence kind of made me want to throw up a little) Who doesn't have much of a choice?

SO - to that end if you will please direct your attention to the column on the right, and please take a moment to vote in my oh-so-scientific study of Target v Walmart.

Ok, Lizzy. I could live in Target. Literally. I mean, I could just never leave and I would be completely satisfied. It's like heaven on earth.

Wal-Mart is Hell. Enough said.

You know I love me some Target. However, I do most of my big food shopping in the Super Wally because we don't have a Super Target and more than hating wally, I like cheap groceries. But Target (pronounced Tar-jhay) is my true love.

OK I cannot stand wal-mart
shopping with my kids at wal-mart is torture! the stuff they sell is crap, a lot of times the toys don't even survive the trip to the register.

why do I go there? it's close, and there is a grocery store next to it so I wont have to do the carseat dance too many times, heck if I time it right we can get subs there and avoid the major drive thru place,

Target I love, nearest one is in NH a bit more of a drive, but do-able problem it is in the mall...going to the mall with my kids is torture...a lesser form of torture, but torture none the less LOL I could drive a little north and go to the next closest Target it's in a strip mall with a Home Goods and a Panera not bad, but really i wouldn't drive that way unless I was going somewhere else near there too KWIM?

K-Mart is the next town over, and in a mall, but it's an old mall and all the stores are closed except Burlington coat factory and K-mart, and right in the same parking lot is a grocery store :)
I go there a lot!

we really do try to avoid wal-mart
but the time I go there the most, is when Dh has been away on a trip and he gets home late at night and I just have cabin fever and have to go somewhere! The Super wal-Mart in NH is 24 hours and the only place open.

So my answer is really? I dislike them all, probably like Target more than the others, but shop more at K-mart

hmm I just re-read my answer
and
I would make a trip to the super wal-mart which is further up the road than the target that I wouldn't make a trip to unless I were going somewhere else.
hmmm

but i do think if Target was open 24 hours I would make a trip to it too

SAVANNAH JUST GOT A TARGET RECENLTY and prior to that we had 4 Walmarts that were close but instead of visiting those I drove all the way to HILTON HEAD to go to the Target. It was about oh I do not know a 40 or 50 minute drive but I had to pass all those Walmarts to get there...I gave them all the finger on my way...heheh Well in my mind (the mind finger)...anyway! I know some people have to go there and i feel sorry for them!

I've got a Walmart close to the house and I can go 3 months without going there : )

But a new SuperTarget just opened across town and I go there every week or 2. The problem... I want to love their food section but I don't. The aisles are small, the selection is odd.. I can find unusual food, but not the normal items I want to buy. So I food shop at Publix or Aldi.

I puffy heart Target...I hate Wal-mart! I go further to spend more money at Target than Walmart! It's just better and organized more efficiently!

I LOVE Target. First, it is not Walmart. That alone scores it some major pointage. Second, it is bright, clean and doesn't have boxes stacked in the aisles. Third, it is not Walmart.

When we lived in SC, our nearest Target was an hour and a half away. By contrast, the nearest Wal-mart was 10 minutes away and it was a Super Wal-mart. I'm sure you can figure where we went for five. years. straight. Now that we're two minutes from a Target, we shop there like normal people change their underwear. Bi-weekly.

I have to be real and say that I love Walmart! There isn't a Target close to me, but even given a choice, I choose Wally World. I do like Target, but I think they are alittle more expensive, and I just want my groceries at a good price. Don't hate! At least i'm honest!!! :-)

I adore Target and I think I mostly do because I feel there is always something new to look at and I never feel in a real rush to get out. We have both near us and we tend to do our groceries at WM, unless we need something considered a specialty item and then we go to the supermarket. I think with WM, it just seems so big and cavernous and you can't find help when you need it. Or you can't find the items when you need it. Or you can't find anything not made in China. I remember when WM use to tout made in America. They have gotten so far from that...or maybe it is my imagination that they ever pushed that fact?

P.S. Thanks for taking a peek at my blog! Sadly I feel a bit like a fraud because that blog will never be as diverse as the "real" me one I have at livejournal. Let me know if you'd like to take a look at that one and I'll gladly send you the link! :)

I'm a Target girl myself. My mom lives in Walmart country and I feel so sorry for her. I mean she REALLY lives in Walmart country. Siloam Springs, AR is about 20 minutes from Bentonville.

Target of course - even though I have to drive at least an hour to get there!!

I LOVE Target, but have no choice but to use Wal Mart occasionally because we have no Target nearby.

Ask and you shall receive, here is the link for my livejournal:

Like I said, it's much more diverse and honest about my day to day, my family and life in general. I do meme's, quizzes and post pictures.

I believe I set my journal to accept OpenID, please let me know if it doesn't work if you try to comment and can't. :)

I HATE WALMART because the lines are so %$#@ slow!! The checkers have turtle breed into them. However I do love Sam's Club. I could live in there, in that big tent they have opened on the floor.

I am so glad I wrote my post about hating Wally World. I might have never known there was this perfect world (in TARGET).

If there is word stronger than LOATHE, then that would express how I feel about Wal-mart. It is always the the last resort in desperate times. Target on the other hand is bliss!

Lynda said...

It's not that I hate WalMart so much, but the PEOPLE who frequent the place. Why are people compelled to bring ALLLLL their kids, their kids' friends, grandma, aunt Maria, and the neighbors... all of which encircle the basket and block the aisles???

Target doesn't seem to attract this clientele and, thus, is more attractive.

I love Target, though I have noticed that in the last several years their prices have gone up to the point that we often can't afford them (we're in a serious crunch right now) and are forced to try WalMart instead. Ugh.
