The Piercing...

Essie is in Vegas this weekend, yuckin it up (though she reports she HATES all the smoking everywhere). Gert and I were a little sad that WE weren't in Vegas, so we decided to have a bit of a girly day here. Gert decided she wanted to get her ears pierced. So, we skeedaddled over to the mall for some window shopping and ear-hole-making. We got to the place and she admired the different earring choices. I really pegged her to pick something pink, but she went for her birthstone, which is emerald. She was SO brave, just a little tear welling up in the eyes. I, on the other hand, full on cried.

She told EVERYONE we saw for the rest of the day that she got her ears pierced today. She's SO excited. It was a fun moment to have with her.
