Essie Takes A Turn

Essie make this lovely little stick drawing for me the other night. I shall help interpret it a bit for you. That's me, in a hospital type bed.. not doing so well (read.. passed on...) And that's Essie on the far left saying "Why God WHY?!" And Gert next to her, wholeheartedly agreeing "Yes God, WHY????!" (And you can't really see it in the scan, but they both have bunny slippers on)... and then the words on the top say 'I Hope this is not you in 50 years mommy"

I.... have no idea what to say about it :)

You better save that one. That is hilarious!

They just want you to know that they have visions of your life in 50 years being more like one of those Depends commercial where you have white hair and a cute tennis outfit.

Ummm. OK. That is so flipping hilarious and terribly sad at the same time. I think that is a keeper. I am odd and would totally frame it and hang it for a while and then keep it forever.

Then I think maybe she is worried about something and that makes me sad. I hope she is OK.

Your littlest one is an artist for sure.

It could be worse, I guess. I am not really sure how. Maybe if they were rejoicing rather than pleading to God?! :) That's definitely a keeper!

Sometimes children "act out" in creative ways, too. Sounds like they love their Mommy. And bunny slippers, too.

LOLLL!! (Why does every comment I leave to start with me laughing?) I see the stick drawing talent is genetic. I sure hope that's not you in 50 years too. Why does 50 years seem so close? YIKES!!!

"Why God WHY?!?!" ROFL!!!!!!!!! I love that even at age 60, she's going to still have that dramatic streak.

Geez, in 50 years you'll be almost 90. I hope she realizes that dying at that point is really not that bad LOLOL.

What a cutie.

Do you think Natasha Richardson's demise had anything to do with this? At least she gave you 50 years more...

Oh, my. At least it wasn't a picture of them leaving you in a nursing home because you threatened to send her to juvi :-)

Oh no! What possesses them sometimes?

The dialogue is brilliant whether we like the subject matter or not. There is drama and sadness and prayer represented.

(how'd I do?)

At least they gave you a good 50 years before you're on your deathbed... I mean, it could've said just 10 or 20 years, LOL!

Cream of Wheat coming out my nose. Not. Good.

Like someone said, at least she doesn't WANT to see you on your deathbed! Sometimes we can't understand how those little brains work.
