In past seasons, the aspiring models almost always come to judging wearing heels. Then when they are called to come forward to get their picture from Tyra, they're always on a platform, but Tyra's on the same platform, same height.
This "cycle" all the girls are short - under 5'7", which at first glance you think "Oh that Tyra! She's so cool to open it up to girls who aren't standard model height"... but then you watch the show, and the girls ALL come to judging in flats... and when they go to get their picture from Tyra, she's standing on a platform that's a good 6 inches higher than the one the girl is on. So what is up with that? Is this like a Tyra power trip or something? Is anyone else watching this? Does anyone else know why she's doing that???

I used to watch the show with my college kid. She's away at school now, so I haven't been keeping up with this year's crop of models. Tyra is such a drama queen. I can so see her doing all this height manipulation to make herself look more powerful.
Nope I have not ever seen the show. I live in a rabbit hole or something. I will check it out though!
I think she's trying to get the girls to figure out how to look/appear taller regardless of their height. That's what she keeps talking about with the shoots and what they're wearing. She's trying to teach them how to trick the camera and eye. At least that's my take on the whole Tyra the Giant thing.
I haven't watched this season much... but my theory is that Tyra thinks if she looks taller she won't look thicker. Please don't shoot me ;)
Nope, don't watch much TV at all these days, except for CSI...
Left you a little something on my blog today.
Hope your weekend is dry and full of job prospects :)
LOL...I noticed this on the first epi and thought the same thing Tyra the Giant! no clue why she feels the need to stand on the platform BUT I bet Joel McHale from E's the Soup will get to the bottom of it...
Dunno. I am all about DWTS and Survivor right now.
I've watched America's next Top Model a few times, but I can't say I've ever noticed that. Did you see the Hannah Montana movie where Tyra and Hannah get into a catfight over shoes? Hilarious.
