The Ladies' Granny(my ex MIL) had a mastectomy about 6 weeks ago, so they haven't been up to spend the weekend with their dad in a bout 2 months. I knew that seeing the Ladies in their costumes would really perk her up, but I wasn't really willing to not have Halloween with them, so I did the ultimate sacrifice and am spending the weekend with my ex.
This afternoon we carved pumpkins, and here's how they turned out:

Here they are together:

Gert as Cinderella:

And Essie as Dorothy (Gramma even included a basket and a Toto dog with her costume!)

I hope you all had a lovely, safe, fun Halloween!!! Don't forget to turn your clocks tonight!!!

The pumpkins are wonderful, but the ladies are are absolutely beautiful. Gert is a wonderful princess, but Essie....Wow....she knocked it out of the park. She really looks great as Dorthy. And those ruby slippers are definitely the icing on the cake.
You rock, Lizzy! Way to go.
Awesome pumpkin pics (love the expressions!), and even better girlie pics. Mr. B is soo right--look, Mr. B. commented! Love the first one of the two of them. Your baby is losing her baby face.
Those costumes are great! I wish more people did homemade costumes still. I was just thinking that today. How I'm gonna do homemade costumes when I have kids (hopefully...).
My Halle was Dorothy this year too. Except, one of the red ruby slippers went missing and there were no more to be found in town in her size. Sooo....we had pink ruby slippers instead. Thank goodness there wasn't a meltdown over it! Love your girls' costumes. So amazing to have someone SEW them for you!!!
They looked GREAT!!! It's good that you could compromise so that your girls had an awesome Halloween:-) That's co-parenting at its best!!
You are such a good mom. :-)
Mr. B is right...she's a rockin' Dorothy! The pumpkins are great. I love the expressions.
They are perfect!
We saw a couple of Dorothy's this year. I wonder if the little kids have even seen the movie...
Gabe knew who they were right away!
(I love that Mr. B commented!)
I like the candy- first, run-later idea... we just need to figure out the logistics ;)
The girls look beautiful, the costumes are simply fab, and the photos are GREAT! Very artsy. I love it!
The girls look fabulous! I wish I knew someone that sewed! I have on my list for when I win the lottery to employ a full time live in seamstress :-) I might need a cobbler, too...while I'm dreaming about it...
So cute!! Love the pumpkins!
That was a great sacrifice but well worth it I am sure!

The girls looks so great in their costumes! And the pumpkins are fabu! I especially like the sort of lopsided smiling one. Sorry you had to spend the weekend with the ex, but those smiles are worth it, right?
Man, I wish I could sew like that! Those costumes are adorable and fit the girls to a "T".
The Ladies costumes were AWESOME! They were so adorable in them! Loved the Pumpkins!
You are a GREAT MOM to spend the weekend with the Ex for your little Ladies! GREAT MOM!!!!!
Glad y'all had a great time. And the girls look adorable in their costumes... well, they're adorable anyway. But 'specially so in their costumes!
Your stepmom did a GREAT job! I love the little Toto in a basket. And the shoes - to die for!
The pumpkins and the costumes were great!
Just LOVE the Ruby Red Slippers! You are such a doll, bringing the gals over to see Grandma and spend the weekend with their Dad, too. Hope everyone in the family had a great Halloween, and that the candy haul was primo!
Wow...
they look like little ladies. I love it.
And i love your pumpkins. We didn't carve one this year. I'm sad about this.
