Happy Father's Day, Mom

Today is the day that we honor the people who:

Taught us how to mow the lawn
Were the head of our homes
Shoveled the driveway
Taught us how to drive
Remodeled the kitchen
Bought the cars
Grilled the meat
Built the swingsets
Taught us how to ride our bikes
Drove the car on vacations
Fixed our toys

And a million other "Dad" jobs.

In my house, that was my mom. She had to do the Mommy jobs and the Daddy jobs. And she did them both, SO well. She's my roll model as a single mom. I hope I can do half the job she did (not saying I turned out that great, just that she did a great job as a single mom). So... Happy Father's Day, Mom.

That's awesome, Lizzy! And now I want to go call my mom - who was also the best dad a daughter could have.

You and your mom are twins!!! She sounds like she rocked. I'm thankful for moms who are strong and not afraid to stare hard tasks in the face! Happy Father's Day to your mom!

such a beautiful tribute Lizzy. I felt the same way about my mom. How blessed to have a role model like that---we are capable of doing anything, and women like this show us that!

and I am loving the Monkees here!
