The Weekend....

Well... it's done.

We headed down to Atlanta on Thursday night.  Saw Mr. B for a minute, then Grandpa & Grandma and Sarah arrived.  It was SO wonderful to see them.  They, of course, being on West Coast time were hungry, but man, for a big city you sure can't find a lot to eat after 11 on a Thursday :)  We ended up driving through MickeyD's.

Friday we met up with Mr. B and went to the Tut exhibit.  SO.... Dad and Julie met Mr. B, and it went well.  He liked them, they seemed to like him.  They know we have... plans.

Saturday was Gert's birthday, we went to IKEA, where Gert wanted to go to SmallLand but it was CLOSED because of the Swine Flu.  Seriously... don't get me started on what a NON-THING the Swine Flu is.

Saturday night Kat and her family came and we had pizza and the girls swam and Gert opened presents.  IT was a wonderful evening to sit outside and chat.  I had a great time, and it was fun to introduce my family to my friends.

Of course the family had to leave this morning, and now there is sadness.  And it's 11:12 pm and the girls keep coming out and telling me that they miss Grandma & Grandpa and they're all weepy and here's the best part.

The air conditioning in my apartment hasn't been working.  I went to the office and told them and someone came Wednesday and "fixed" it.  Wednesday night I was working on the cake, and it seemed to still be quite hot in here, but I figured it was because of the oven being on and just working hard.  Thursday when we left I set the temp on the AC so that if it got really warm in here it would kick on.  We got home tonight, opened the door to the apartment, and it felt like the HEAT had been on.  I went to the thermostat and it's up above 90, as far as it can go.  And of course the air conditioner is running, trying to cool it down, but since it's not functioning , that's not happening.  So... i have 2 emotional, hot girls, I'm hot and emotional too, and I'm trying to wrap my head around what my electric bill is going to be.

Tomorrow I will give the management a bit of an earful about this and demand that they knock something off my rent to compensate for the bill.

Ugh.

It really was a good weekend, i promise.  I'm just hot.

Both ways... as my girls say.

What a fun weekend. I am glad the meeting went well.
For some reason, though, I cannot wrap my mind around Small Land. Guess you have to be a little one to get it. Sorry for Gert it was closed.
Were you in Atlanta? Wasn't the Big Chicken open? Or Cracker Barrel? Cracker Barrel would be a treat for a Westerner. Real fried Oakrey and all.
Sorry about the air conditioner. There always has to be a wrench thrown into the works to spoil a good day, it seems.

Your spam is cracking me up!

I can't believe they didn't actually fix the AC. I think I would melt for sure. I hope they put you as number one on the list!

I had a great time seeing you over the weekend. And I suppose I'll see you this weekend, too!

It all sounds wonderful...except for the stupid air conditioner! I hope you get some satisfaction from management on that issue.

Ah, the joys of apartment living. Actually, I quite enjoyed apartment living except for the fact that it takes maintenance way too long to fix things. How come there are guys working in the lawn all day/every day; moving pine straw from here to there ... but yet no one can come fix the dang toilet or air conditioner???? Sheesh! Priorities!!

You are hot woman! You are smokin' hot and for this ♫♪♫'I'll be lovin' you forever'♪♪ (to quote the ever famous and trying to resurrect a career in music, when they should stick to acting and reality shows, New Kids On The Block).......

The no air thing. Oooh hunny, I'd be all up in mgmts. bidniss. I don't sweat in a very lady like manner and that just would make me a very cranky woman. Add children to the mix and you've got a sure fire recipe for a post-office-type tragedy of gigantic proportions.

I'm wordy today. I feel inspired to use adjectives. Too much "Between the Lions." :)

Glad you had a wonderful trip to GA.....

There is NOTHING I hate more than being hot. Which is why, despite my love for all things southern, I will never be able to live there.

Glad you had a good weekend otherwise!

I feel your pain. I Am NOT a NICE PERSON when I'm just sitting there and sweating! UGH that's the worst! I hope they give you a huge reduction on your rent and actually fix it this time.

I'm so thrilled that you guys had a fab weekend!! And glad to hear that the A/C sounds like it's fixed. Give the landlord hell!

Have I mentioned lately how refreshing the Smoky Mountains are around November? Just sayin.
