American Idol - Llor Dna Kcor

For some reason, my freshman year of college, I started saying Rock and Roll backwards... Llor Dna Kcor. And whenever anyone says Rock and Roll, my brain turns it around... So tonight I felt like I was going backwards all night.

Hmm... interesting thought... a backwards post... have to think about that.

Okay... going in... a few thoughts. #1 - I'm a little annoyed that Adam has gotten the diva spot like a bajillion weeks running and never gets stuck going first. #2 - Have you heard the scuttlebutt that Allison has already been in an American Idol type competition in Mexico and won $50,000? Hmmmm.... interesting.

So, I'm running late... Gert's birthday is this weekend and I had to bake her cake tonight so I can decorate it tomorrow night. Sorry about the lateness.

We start off the night with the drama that there was an ACCIDENT on set earlier... DO NOT FEAR (hey... if you ask my little nephew what an angel says, he'll flutter his arms and say "Fear Not!!!") no one was injured, BUT they didn't get to have a proper dress rehearsal.

Our mentor this week is Slash... yes.. hmm.... well that's Rock and Roll (Llor dna Kcor) for ya...

Adam kicks off the night. Finally. He's got the whole rocker vibe... actually... if you squint while you look at the tv, his silhouette is very Elvisian.... high necked jacket, bell bottoms... kinda like this

So he's singing Whole Lotta Love, and of course he rocks it, because this is HIS night... he sang the h-e-double hockey sticks out of it. He's got the lights and the moves and the high pitched squeeling... and he keeps giving this evil glare thing.... Of course the judges loved him. Forgone conclusion.Allison is singing Cry Baby. She and Adam went to his hair lady together and Allison got her some extensions and they work for the look. She does a good job with the song - it's a good sound for her. She's doing pretty good connecting with the audience and in general does a good job. The judges were a little mixed... NOW here's the surprise for the night... everyone is singing a solo and a duet and up next is.. Danny & Adam singing Renegade.

Well... for not getting to practice it's pretty good. A little pitchy but that's not surprising. They actually did some INCREDIBLE harmonies.

We get back from the break and we have...

Kris. Do you see where this is going? You think about it, I'll write.

Kris is singing Come Together. He's playing his guitar and he REALLY is a genius with that instrument. There's something so believable about him out there... a rock star needs a guitar. Unfortunately, hard core Rock and Roll (you know the drill) just isn't really his thing, and while he does a good job, it's no Adam. And the judges pretty much agree. Though Simon says it was like eating ice for lunch and that's the second time he's referenced something wet after Kris' performance and I'm just gonna leave it at that.

Now we have Danny... (have you figured it out?)

Danny is singing Dream On and seriously? Only Adam can pull off that last note... and Danny comes out looking like a banker at Karaoke night... pin-striped vest... hmmm.... he does a respectable job until the last note and it hurts... there's nothing musical about that last note at all. And Simon agrees with me. He said it was like a horror movie. YES.

Who's going last.

FREEKING Allison and ADAM. HE starts out the night and STILL gets the Diva spot. WHATEVER.

They sing Slow Ride and honestly, I think Allison sang him under the table. It was good - didn't have the tricky harmony that Danny and Kris had.

So... humph. I'm annoyed. We all know Adam is gonna win, do we have to set it up THAT badly.

I'm a little worried that this was the wrong week for Kris... it wasn't his best night at by 9:15 I was getting in to vote for him VERY easily... so I'm pretty worried about my sweet Kris.
