Today I was purusing the internet and saw a link to a story about Kate Middleton. I admit - I clicked. I thought maybe there were some pictures from the wedding I hadn't seen or something like that. Nope. Here's the big news. Kate..... WENT GROCERY SHOPPING. OMG!!!!!!!!!! KATE WENT GROCERY SHOPPING AND SHE SEEMED TO BE SELECTIVE ABOUT WHAT SHE WAS BUYING AND DIDN'T JUST THROW THINGS IN HER CART (probably buggy in England though... right?)
And I closed the story. Disgusted. Cause... seriously... this is the kind of coverage that killed William's mother.
And my ah-ha moment was when I realized why I was ok with spending almost the entire weekend last weekend watching every morsel I could find about the wedding, but it made me mad to see this coverage of her shopping. It's because I will never have a royal wedding. I wanted to watch that to experience that, to see what that would be like.
On the other hand.... I have, in fact, been grocery shopping before. Several times actually. I don't really need to know how Kate does that. Though... I will say from the pictures I can determine with pride that Kate and I push the cart (buggy... trolly??) THE EXACT SAME WAY!!!!
With our hands!

But when she has kids, will she push the cart (buggy) with her hands while one child is IN the cart, and one is perched on the end of it, and yet another is vying for steering rights? That might be worth seeing.
Tracy does have a point...I might like to see that, too.
But I do know what you mean; I hope Kate, I mean Catherine, has better coping mechanisms than Di did...already, I'd say she is off to a good start, marrying for love and being self-confident in a way that Di never was.
Ant THAT is why I love you.
D'oh! I get the italics to work right, but misspell "and"....
You crack me up! I agree completely. I bet she uses the loo aka toilet the same way we do too.
Are you SURE you push the cart the same way? Maybe she was just mugging for the camera... :)
ha ha! Love it. And I totally agree; while I was sitting there watching the wedding, I kept thinking how I would have loved to have a train (on the dress) that long, but you would have to have a royal wedding in a huge cathedral to get away with that. At least we can live out our dreams in someone else, eh?
FYI: over here we call a shopping cart a TROLLEY. Crazy Brits. :)
You are so funny-- and so RIGHT! Isn't it sad and amazing what makes the news-- and what we buy into?!
I didn't watch the royal wedding. I KNOW. Somehow I just couldn't muster the interest. Which is weird because I love just about everything royal and princessy. Maybe because things did turn out so badly for Diana. She's lovely, though, and I wish them all the happiness in the world.
