Do you say "Twenty ten" or "Two thousand ten"? I say Twenty Ten.
So there.
The girls and I went to a home show yesterday. It was beyond lame. Basically, I paid $19.00 for a bout 20 pieces of candy.
Yesterday afternoon Gert and I went to get our hair trimmed. Essie was not in the mood for it, so she stayed out in the car. I neglected to tell her that she couldn't sit there the whole time with the radio running, so when we got back out to the car, it wouldn't start. Now, granted, the battery is, I believe, original equipment in my 2001 Honda, so that's not really a surprise. I happened to be on the phone with Mr. B at the time, and he rushed to my rescue (as did a wonderful guy and his wife who offered to help but I said someone was coming, and they came back out just as Mr. B arrived, and he helped push my car over to where Mr. B could jump it. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Stranger)... So Mr B (wearing an AWESOME plaid flannel shirt) got my car running, and then said he was going to give me some money to get a new battery, and followed me to Sears to make sure that the car kept running. We got the car into Sears, and the ladies and I headed into the mall to kill time. Mr. B headed out for a planned evening with his friend. We went to the food court and found some dinner, and as we were sitting, I found myself daydreaming a little about Mr. B and how good he is to me. Essie caught me wool-gathering and asked what I was doing. I told her that "I'm just think about my knight in shining armor" and Gert says "You mean your knight in shining plaid!" LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was a pet store at the mall, and the girls got to hold a Welsh Corgi. Gosh are those cute little buggers.
Do you have a knight in shining armor? Have you ever been helped by a good Samaritan? Ever gotten to BE the good Samaritan? Do you have a favorite dog? Do you like plaid?

I love the new look:-)
I have been helped with car issues before. I have broken down on 285 before. I had a nice person pick me up...and take me to the next exit where there were tons of dealerships. I figured a Chevy place was a good place to find help - since I had a chevy at the time. But uh no. They refused to help unless I paid them. Then my dad came to my rescue to fix my flat. Still holding my grudge against Jim Ellis car dealerships.
Wait...what was the question?
I've been saying "twenty ten".
I've always liked Corgis. The Pembroke variety, not the Cardigan.
"You mean your knight in shining plaid!"... oh, that Gert. She's a pistol.
Knight in Shining Plaid, I love it so very much.
Twice I've given someone a ride who obviously had car trouble and needed help. (But you know me, I only do that if I know I've been "told" to.)
Will's pulled over to help people a lot of times though. Obviously he's a better help to someone with car trouble than I am, LOL. I can't do anything other than offer to let them use my cell phone.
He's also literally saved someone's life at least three times that I can think of - once he did the Heimlich on a lady that was choking, once he saw a guy have an accident on a motorcycle that landed him in a creek way off the side of the road where he wouldn't have been seen, and of course the time he beat the two rottweilers off that elderly lady when we lived in town.
Oh and I say "Two thousand ten" - mostly because "Twenty-oh-nine" and so on just didn't sound right so now it's habit.
Knight in shining plaid. I love it!
I do love the new look!
Hey Lizzy, digging the new background it's great.
Yes, I have a knight in shining armor. And even after 15 years, my heart goes pitty pat when I see him across the room (sometimes). I have been helped by a Good Samaritan. I have been blessed to be a Good Samaritan on numerous occasions. I do not have a favorite dog and yes, I do like plaid.
I love Mr. B's pic up top. I am so happy for you.
Twenty-ten sounds like a child who doesn't understand thirty. I say two thousand ten. I have issues!
I've been helped a number of times, and I'm so very thankful.
I have a knight and he's amazing. He's in whatever armor suits him at the time. Did I mention he's amazing. Totally and completely? He rocks my world. I'm very lucky. And don't forget the amazing part!
ps - love the new look!
Lizzie,
Love, love, love the background!
And...yes...I have a knight in shining armor! I haven't released this info on the blog yet (not sure I'm ready for all the backlash) but he has definitely rescued me in every way possible. You are so blessed but then again, you totally deserve it!!
Hugs,
Rene
Yes to all the questions and my favorite dog is my little pee pee dog, Lulu. She will get housebroken. I just know it. Gosh darnit.
I have a knight with a shiny head. I do love that man.
Plaid. Luuuuvvv it! Big time. Always have. Always will.
AI starts tonight baby!!! Call me if you want to watch it together.
I'll be all cheesy and say Joe is my knight, since he is always around to bail my butt out if I get into trouble, especially computer problems or anything around the house that needs fixing.
When I was pregnant with Gabe, my van broke down. With three kids in the back. In the hot July sun. And no water. SEVERAL Good Samaritans stopped, but by that time my father in law was on his way to save the day. Which he did, right before we died of heat exhaustion.
My favorite dog is a golden retriever. Although I don't have one. Dean Koontz makes them seem so awesome. I love my little toy fox terrier, though.
I LOVE that Mr. B finally made it onto your header. And that is definitely what she said!
btw, did you get your cards yet?
Oh, yes, yes, yes and this Ozarks farm chick loves plaid! I love your new look.
From the hills and hollers of the Ponderosa, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
I'm really liking the new background! I enjoy plaid, but it's definitely not a good look for me.
Hubby would have to be my knight in shining armor although sometimes the armor isn't so shiny, but that's what happens when the knight's been around for 16 years. LOL!
And while I think corgis are ADORABLE, German Shepherds will always be at the top of my fave list!
