Lizzy and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

There's a chance I'm repeating the title of this blog. Ask me if I care.

So.. over the last 3 days there has been EXTENSIVE drama with our contractor, the details of which I shall share later this weekend. But, suffice it to say that it has been a VERY stressful couple of days.

Yesterday... I got home from work, put water on the stove to boil for pasta, put the pasta sauce on medium... texted Mr. B something about wishing I had wine cause it was one of those days, went to go to the bathroom and realized, I had forgot to buy toilet paper at lunch yesterday. Grabbed the keys, told The Big Gulp to stay put and ran to CVS to get toilet paper. Texted Mr. B that I was headed to get toilet paper. He called me as I was leaving CVS, asked where I was and said "Stay put, I'm about a mile away and I have a bottle of wine for you." So I stayed put... until it hit me that I had left everything on the stove still cooking... ACK.... so I pulled out, passed him in the parking lot, he handed me the bottle from his window to mine... got home... FORTUNATELY I had (and I NEVER DO) put a lid on the sauce, so the mess was limited. And the water was boiling but it was a BIG pot with about 3 quarts of water so it was no where NEAR boiled dry... SO... I finish making dinner... fed the girls, poured myself a glass of wine, went to get something from the bed room, got back, and there's a BUG floating in my wine.... sigh... so I dump it out, and put the glass GENTLY in the sink... and it hits something and... breaks into a bunch of pieces. Fine. I didn't want the dang wine anyways.

Then this morning, I went to microwave a bagel for Essie and found the vegetables I made for supper last night.

Today just has to be better.

Save me a seat next to you on that flight to Australia, mmmkay?

I set a large, plastic bottle of garlic powder down on a burner I had shut off approximately fifteen seconds prior and it still took me resting my hand on the same burner a moment or two after *that* to remember that the burner was hot. Yeesh.

Hope your weekend is fantabulous to make up for the week!!

I've been sadly disappointed with small contractors lately. I just don't get it. Hope it gets better. :)

As my Dad would say, "Hey, that lil' ol' bug won't drink much, will he?" And veggies for breakfast? What could be better?!? Hope your weekend has been a tad better...

Momma said there'd be days like this, there'd be days like this my momma said.....

Momma and I are still not on speaking terms....:) GRRRR.

Momma should have said, "when you have days like this, screaming, eating, and vegging in front of the TV are all perfectly acceptable forms of coping."

I know the tune would not be nearly as catchy, but at least I wouldn't feel so guilty when the latter 3 things occured.

I love you sister and the sun will come out tomorrow...
