So... what colors do you love? What colors are you tired of? Do you have different colors in each room or one color throughout? If you could do rooms in your house differently, what would you do?
Just in case you REALLy want to be inspired, here's the pictures of the house....

We repainted our entire house before selling it last spring, and are in the process (the neverfreakingending process!) of stripping the 45 year old wallpaper and replacing it with paint in our new house.
There is a color by Kilz called "Soft Linen" (formerly "Soft Ecru") that we used extensively at our old house and liked so much we bought some to do the living room, dining room and halls of our new house. We painted our office and family room a light green called "Garden Moss" (also Kilz - we have had a lot of great results with Kilz) that has been up for 9 months now and no one is sick of it - very peaceful and calm but still color and not boring.
In my old house, I did the downstairs powder room in a light blue that I believe was called "Teardrop" with white trim and fixtures and which I loved, but I didn't live with it for too long so I can't say if I would've gotten fed up with it. We've done our daughter's bedroom in a light pink (her request) with white trim and I'm still pondering colors for the bathrooms (which would have to coordinate with the existing tile since we can't afford to replace all that tile anytime soon) and the kitchen. I'd like to do a bold red in the kitchen, but I'm afraid I'd hate it once it was up!
Okay, enough rambling about paint - Idol's starting!! :-D
I have different colors in all the bedrooms but in our great room and hallway, it will be one color. We are painting later this month:-)
We have different colors in every room. When I was growing up, we only ever had white walls and so now I color my world like crazy. I'm getting a little fidgety though and thinking about making some changes. I want the living room to be a pale gray-blue. And I'm thinking a pale orange in the kitchen.
My flat is a rental flat so it's mostly a lovely colour of mauve. The selling points? The dark purple sofa and the dark purple feature wall in my bedroom.
I love the combination of black/pink/purple. Not in emo-proportions but in accessories.. I tend to like flats&houses that are quite bland regarding the paintwork/fixtures, and then adding my black/pink accessories (aqua or minty blue bathroom and coffee brown/peach for kitchen). This all-round uniformity of the plain-coloured walls makes the whole living space into one space, but differentiates via accessories. If you know what I mean?
xx
I want lots of color..but it has not happened yet. I have the kitchen painted a color called Gold Dorset by Benjamin Moore Paints and I really do love it. My dining room is called TreeHouse Green. I want to use a savannah red in my living room but have not been brave enough to do it yet...so it is a beige color for right now...like the rest of the house.
What color are you going to paint the girls rooms? Are they picking out their own colors?
Well have fun and lots and lots of fun...this is so exciting. I can not wait to see your colors you pick.l
I am way into earthtones and fall colors; my living room and entry way is "Lion's mane" gold, kitchen is "terra cotta", bedroom is yellow, finished basement beiges and browns with some yellow.
My gosh, add some shag carpeting and it sounds like something straight out of the 70's. Looks better than it sounds, I think.
I'm with Cara; I'm a color gal.
Good luck; can't wait to see the results!
I tend to stick with earth tones.
We've repainted every room in this house, except for the master bedroom and downstairs den... and the hallway going downstairs.
Just painted the playroom "camel"... but to me, it looks more like "cafe au lait".
Our upstairs is painted different colors... but from the same family. We painted the hallway one color... the living room is just a shade darker... then the dining room is a shade darker than that. I can't remember the color names, though.
I only wish I had a new house to paint...but dreaming and looking at brand new homes, I noticed in the majority of them that the walls were a nice cream/beige/light tan..with white trim.. Makes sense to me because then you could decorate the room in whatever color you wanted, change it, etc and never have to worry about changing wall colors :P
Lizzie,
Some of the paint sites do a quiz about the colors you like, try one of those. I found it to be really helpful.
Good luck!
We love Behr paints...they are our favorites. My fav. colors are Dusty Green and Macadamia. We painted our living room Dusty Green and dining room Macadamia. The rooms were joined by an 8' wide doorway and the colors were so complementary.
Right now, our entire house is one color - Kilim Beige from Sherwin Williams. Not a bad color for a neutral.
Your house is gorgeous! No matter what colors you choose, I would recommend you paint the front door a juicy, glossy color that will pop.
I love shiny black front doors, as well as dark red, navy and (sometimes) green.
Just my opinion.
Enjoy!

I say go BOLD. None of this white/beige/cream-colored janx. You've got to get your inspiration from someplace fun, like the Caribbean. I've always favored Mango and Conch, myself!

I'm a huge purple fan right now, but I'm NOT recommending that. I've never painted, but I'm moving in with a friend, and we've agree to paint my new bedroom a kinda medium almost slate-ish blue. We actually both independently liked the color before we saw it, which was great since we don't tend to agree on things like that. I think it'd be neat to do one wall that adjoins the rooms a "color" color, and then the rest a beige to complement. Just a suggestion.
Hey how are your paint colors coming? Hope all is going great for you and the Ladies! Have a great great EASTER!
3 years ago I painted my dinette Toasted Almond... I was in love with it!
3 weeks ago I was helping a friend chose colors for her home. She had swatches on her wall and I picked out "The swatch on the right. The 2nd color down"... little did I know, it was Toasted Almond ;)
